Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Elaine Korngold and I offer counseling in person (in Portland, Oregon) and online to adults located in Oregon, Florida, South Carolina, Vermont, New Hampshire, or abroad.
Purpose of Blogging
Blogging is the perfect platform for me to share resources and insights that benefit my current and prospective clients, and, potentially, the entire counseling profession. My blog is not a forum for therapy. It is unethical for a counselor to “treat” or advise readers, either in posts or in comment responses. Also, I would never share specifics from my counseling sessions with clients.
Research in Specialty Areas
I love to read and do research in my specialty areas:
- Types of Therapies: Brainspotting therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy,
- Types of Issues: Financial therapy, Career counseling.
- Types of Clients: Individual adults, monogamous heterosexual and same-sex couples, neurodiverse couples.
When I find interesting articles I enjoy sharing them with my clients and adding my perspectives. In this blog I curate and post links to the articles that caught my attention. Hopefully, you will also find the content interesting. Enjoy!
