Elaine Korngold, LPC, is a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and an Approved Consultant, a certified IFS (Internal Family Systems) Therapist, and is certified in Trauma, ADHD, and Autism counseling. She offers Brainspotting certification and consultation services to clinicians around the world. Elaine helps clinicians become certified in Brainspotting and provides support to those working with complex clinical cases that involve integration of Brainspotting and IFS.
Brainspotting Certification
Elaine Korngold, LPC, is an Approved Consultant who helps Brainspotting clinicians become certified. Brainspotting Certification process expands your knowledge and enhances your practical use of Brainspotting. Certification process is a one-on-one, personalized experience that sharpens your expertise in Brainspotting. Certification demonstrates your commitment to Brainspotting and personal excellence.
Certification Process
Elaine offers certification over approximately a six-months period, with one 60-minute session each month. We will follow the required curriculum, review the theory and science behind Brainspotting, help you gain confidence in using specific setups, review your cases, and explore your questions.
Certification Requirements
- Completion of Brainspotting Phase 1 and 2 trainings in person or online.
- A minimum of six (6) hours of consultation from an Approved Brainspotting Consultant. The last hour to include a formal review of applicant’s Brainspotting skills, documented on a consultation form.
- 50 documented Brainspotting sessions.
- Payment of a $150 certification fee to Brainspotting Trainings, LLC.
- Certification to be reviewed and awarded by Brainspotting Trainings, LLC.
Ongoing Certification requires 100 sessions documented every 2 years and a fee of $100, so keep documenting your sessions. One hour of consultation is required to become re-certified.
Documenting Sessions for Certification
Elaine developed a progress note template that meets certification requirements and helps with tracking progress in Brainspotting and IFS therapies. She is happy to work with you to implement a similar template in your own documentation process.
Starting Certification Consultations
Elaine can start Certification consultations with you at any time after you have completed Phase 1, or when you are reaching your 2-year re-certification point. She is passionate about promoting excellence in Brainspotting and helping Brainspotting clinicians gain more confidence in the theory and techniques of Brainspotting.
Consultation: Brainspotting and IFS (Internal Family Systems)
Elaine enjoys working with clinicians who want to grow their understanding and practice of Brainspotting and IFS in individual consultations. She offers an attuned and supportive learning environment for you to develop your Brainspotting and IFS skills and explore the challenges that come up in your teletherapy or in-person sessions with clients. Elaine aims to provide you with a solid foundation in Brainspotting as a neuro-experiential brain-body approach so that you become comfortable offering it in any session with any client. You can also practice integrating your IFS or Parts-spotting skills into your Brainspotting sessions.
Elaine’s Experience with Brainspotting and IFS
Elaine regularly consults with other Consultants and advanced trainers to grow her own knowledge and skills and is happy to share her expertise. She is an active contributor to the International Brainspotting community and co-leads the monthly Brainspotting and Parts Group.
